AIR SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS

When you open your account, we will assign you an RAS-BOX number at a physical address in Miami’s business district.  It is very important to include your RAS-BOX #  to identify the destination (RAS=Roatan Air Services). For air service, the weight restriction on size or weight for Roatan bound parcels is 150 pounds and 40’ height X 30’ width X 30’ long.  As a guide, anything thing that can be delivered by UPS, Fedex, DHL, Airborne and US Postal Service will be accepted.  Please call us or email us for general cargo of larger/bulky items that may have to be shipped by ocean.

For outgoing mail be sure your return address is the same (as below) in case a piece of mail has to be returned to sender for any reason.  If it is returned, it will come back to us in Miami and then to back to you in Roatan.

If you are sending or receiving valuable items, important documents, checks etc. by US Post Office please send registered with return receipt and /or internet tracking option. If sending via UPS, Fedex etc. retain the tracking number they assign to your package. This is the only way to trace mail or packages in case they don’t arrive as expected.  Without a tracking number we are limited to what can be done to locate the package or piece of mail.

Once the ocean service is in place this type of service will be identified by the word OCEAN, this will direct the Miami office to separate the package for consolidated service.

 

OPTIONS FOR REGISTERED ACCOUNTS

MINI-BOX

$15.00 per month two and one half (2.5) pounds allowable weight for incoming and outgoing mail per month.   Additional weight charged at $2.65 per pound. If you only send and receive  personal mail.

SMALL BOX

$25.00 per month five (5) pounds allowable weight for incoming and outgoing mail, per month incoming packages. Additional weight charged at $2.65 per pound. This option allows you to send and receive more mail as well as receive your favorite magazines.

MEDIUM BOX

$35.00 per month ten (10) pounds allowable weight for incoming and outgoing mail per month.   Incoming packages only, over weight charged at $2.65 per pound. With this account you will be able to send and receive mail, receive magazines and packages at a reasonable price.

LARGE-BOX

$45.00 per month for fifteen (15) pounds allowable weight for incoming, outgoing mail, and packages.  Over weight charged at $2.65 per pound. If you plan to ship large amounts on a regular basis, we will review your account and offer you a discount based on volume.

WITH ALL ACCOUNTS YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SHIP MAIL & PARCELS TO ROATAN. FROM ROATAN WE ARE STILL WORKING ON PARCEL SERVICE NORTHBOUND. WHEN THE ACCOUNT ALLOWABLE WEIGHT IS EXCEEDED, ADDITIONAL CHARGES APPLY AT THE RATE PER POUND INDICATED.

SPECIAL NOTES

  1. NON-REGISTERED USERS PAY $3.50 PER LETTER, $6.00 FOR LARGE ENVELOPES & $4.00 PER POUND FOR PARCELS WITH MINIMUM CHARGE OF $9.00.
  2. NO DANGEROUS GOODS ACCEPTED SUCH AS PAINTS, FLAMMABLE FLUIDS OR GASES, ETC.
  3. CUT-OFF TIME FOR ROATAN BOUND SHIPMENT IS FRIDAY BY 5:00PM. ALL MAIL AND PARCELS MUST ARRIVE AT THE ADDRESSES ABOVE BY THE CUT-OFF TIME.
  4. CUT-OFF TIME FOR NORTHBOUND MAIL & PARCELS IS TUESDAY BY NOON.
  5. SHIPMENTS NORTHBOUND. FROM ROATAN MUST BE OPENED FOR INSPECTION, PLEASE ASK US FOR DETAILS.
  6. IMPORT CUSTOM DUTIES WILL BE BILLED SEPARATELY
  7. ON FORWARDING DOCUMENTS VIA UPS, FEDEX, DHL OR EXPRESS US POSTAL SERVICE  IS AVAILABLE ON REQUEST.

SERVICE DETAILS

  1. First and last month required.
  2. Service is by air, flight arrives in Roatan every Sunday. Mail parcels & cargo will be available on Monday after 12:00 am.
  3. Rates include local sales tax, shipping documentation, US security inspection and Honduran customs/aduana processing charges.
  4. Customs import duties will be billed separately.

CONSOLIDATED OCEAN FREIGHT INSTRUCTIONS



Consolidation of freight is a common practice that allows a company to pool together shipments from different individuals into one larger shipment.  This practice offers a lower price for all participants since the consolidators is able to command a better rate by committing to buy shipping space at bulk rates.  Another savings to the individual is the cost of documentation, since each shipment requires its own paperwork regardless of  value or size. As an individual you rely on the vessel owner/operator to prepare the documentation and pay the charge for his work. A consolidator assumes the responsibility to prepare the paperwork and by doing so the different shipments become one incurring only one expense.

Ocean freight is measured and charged differently than air freight. The main factor is how much volume or space the box occupies in the shipping container. The box is measured on three dimensions in inches, multiplied and divided by a specific factor.




The vessel owner / operator charges by cubic feet or meters, there is a minimum shipping charge in addition to the documentation charge, and other related charges. RasXpress rates are all inclusive (freight, documentation, security and fuel surcharge). The only additional charge will be customs duties if any, depending on the commodity being shipped.



OCEAN RATES

Miami to Roatan

Minimum shipment one cubic foot $25.00

Additional cubic foot $15.00

RasXpress will receive all consolidated shipments at our warehouse 1454 NW 78th Ave. Miami, FL 33126. Once shipment arrives in Roatan, we will clear customs and have the shipment available for you in our office.

Roatan to Miami

Minimum shipment one cubic foot $50.00

Additional cubic foot $30.00

RasXpress will receive all consolidated shipment at our office at Mango Tree Center. Once shipment arrives in Miami we will clear customs and forward the shipment via UPS ground to any destination you indicate. The on-forwarding charges are additional.

SCHEDULE

Miami to Roatan

Cut-off for receiving freight at our warehouse in Miami is Friday by noon. Freight arrives the following Friday but due to the operation of offloading and customs clearance, shipments will be available for pick up the following Wednesday.

Roatan to Miami

Cut-off for receiving freight at our office in mango Tree center is by 2:00pm Wednesday. Due to US TSA mandated security procedures, all shipments must be quarantine before departure to US ports, therefore actual departure is on Friday.

  1. CHARGES FOR CONSOLIDATED OCEAN FREIGHT WILL BE CHARGED INDEPENDENTLY FROM AIR SERVICE.
  2. NON-REGISTERED USERS HAVE A MINIMUM OF $30.00 FOR THE FIRST CUBIC FOOT AND $20.00 PER ADDITIONAL CUBIC FOOT FOR MIAMI TO ROATAN SHIPMENTS.
  3. NON-REGISTERED USERS HAVE A MINIMUM OF $60.00 FOR THE FIRST CUBIC FOOT AND $40.00 PER ADDITIONAL CUBIC FOOT FOR SOUTHBOUND SHIPMENTS.
  4. ON FORWARDING TO ANY DESTINATION IN THE US OR EUROPE IS AVAILABLE  VIA UPS, FEDEX, DHL OR US POSTAL SERVICE  IS AVAILABLE ON REQUEST.
  5. DANGEROUS GOODS  SUCH AS PAINTS, FLAMMABLE FLUIDS OR GASES, ETC. MUST BE DECLARED.
  6. CUT-OFF TIME FOR ROATAN BOUND SHIPMENT IS FRIDAY BY NOON. ALL SHIPMENTS MUST ARRIVE AT THE ADDRESS ABOVE BY THE CUT-OFF TIME.

  8. SHIPMENTS NORTHBOUND. FROM ROATAN MUST BE OPENED FOR INSPECTION, REQUIRED BY US TRANSPORTATION SECURITY ADMINISTRATION PLEASE ASK US FOR DETAILS.
  9. IMPORT CUSTOM DUTIES WILL BE BILLED SEPARATELY.
